My father strong, humble and kind
Fearless and generous
A one-track mind
His voice was like thunder
His temper like a storm
And yet he could be soft
Joking and warm
He saw other’s hardships
Saw things we didn’t see
He helped those he could
We cannot disagree
His words and actions
Were often misunderstood
He could not express himself
As most others could
But he thrilled us with his stories
from the days he’s been through
Made us laugh with his jokes
This was the man we knew
The void he has left is difficult to replace
It is with great sadness
We ask for God’s grace
A husband, a brother an uncle who is gone
A friend, our father, our dad
His name was John.
